How long does a clutch last?
It depends heavily on use: town driving, hills and driving style all wear it faster. There's no fixed mileage.
Does the dual-mass flywheel need replacing with the clutch?
Not always. We inspect it once it's out and tell you whether it's fine or worth replacing.
Can I keep driving if the clutch is slipping?
Only briefly and carefully. The more it slips, the hotter it gets and the more damage it can do. Best to get it checked soon.
Could the problem be something else?
Yes, sometimes the fault is in the clutch operating system or in the gearbox. That's why we diagnose before dismantling.
What if my car won't move?
