Frequently asked questions: Brakes in Mallorca
How often do brake pads need replacing?
It depends on the car and how you drive. It's best to check them at every service; we'll let you know when they're close to the limit.
Do the discs always have to be changed with the pads?
Not always. We measure the discs and only replace them if they're below the minimum thickness or damaged.
Why are my brakes squealing?
It could be wear, dirt or a part that isn't seated properly. We check it and tell you the cause.
How often should brake fluid be changed?
The manufacturer sets an interval, usually in years. We check it for your car.
Can I drive with the brake warning light on?
Better not. It may mean low fluid or a fault in the system. Call us and we'll take a look.
